X Waiver Training: Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Online Course

In accordance with the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA), physician assistants must complete 24 hours of specialized training to prescribe buprenorphine, one of three medications approved by the FDA for the treatment of opioid use disorder. The training includes 8 hours of MAT waiver training and an additional 16 hours of training.

The Northern New England Champions Grant: Opportunity for Emerging Clinical Leaders

This HRSA-funded opportunity is for FQHC-based DOs, MDs, or PAs who are interested in developing their leadership skills to support new or support existing Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) or Substance Use Disorder (SUD) programming for their patients and communities. Participating clinicians will:

  • Receive mentorship, engage with fellow providers across New England, and strengthen skills in leadership, health policy, and quality improvement.
  • Clinical Sites will receive compensation of $25,000/year for two years (or $50,000 over two years) to compensate for the clinician’s time away from patients for NNE-CCP activities
  • Over the course of the cohort clinicians will design and implement a OUD/SUD health care transformation project tailored to the needs of their own site and/or community
